What We Believe
RBF Follows the Tennants of the Southern Baptist
Conference(SBC)
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is a network of over 47,000 independent churches that coordinate through a "confessional" consensus rather than a rigid creed. Their core beliefs and practices are outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (BF&M), which serves as a guide for doctrinal unity.Â

Core Theological Beliefs
The Bible: It is considered the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God and the final authority on all matters of faith.
The Trinity: Belief in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit.
Salvation: A free gift of God's grace received through personal faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Perseverance of the Saints: Often described as "once saved, always saved," the belief that true believers will not lose their salvation.
Regeneration: The "new birth" or spiritual transformation that occurs when an individual turns from sin and trusts in Christ.Â

Distinctive Practices
Believer’s Baptism: Baptism is performed only for those who have made a personal profession of faith.
Immersion: Baptism must be by full immersion in water, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
The Lord's Supper: A symbolic memorial of Christ’s death, rather than a literal transformation of the elements.
Local Church Autonomy: Each local congregation is independent and self-governing; the SBC national body has no direct authority over them.
Priesthood of All Believers: Every Christian has direct access to God and the responsibility to study and interpret Scripture.Â

Social and Ethical Stances
Marriage and Sexuality: Affirmation that marriage is exclusively between one man and one woman. Homosexuality is considered a sin.
Sanctity of Life: Belief that life begins at conception; the SBC strongly opposes abortion.
Gender Roles: The office of pastor is reserved for men. In the home, a husband is called to provide for and lead his family, while a wife is encouraged to submit graciously.
Evangelism and Missions: A primary focus on sharing the Gospel globally through the International Mission Board (IMB) and North American Mission Board (NAMB).Â
